Mike Kelly (1963-1965) as a safety under the coaching tutelage of Hall of Fame coach Bob Hicks. During his tenure, Wagner went 19-9, including posting a perfect 10-0 mark in 1964. As a sophomore, he notched a then school-record with a 64-yard punt return for a touchdown.

As a senior, Kelly set a then single-season record for interceptions with seven and also graduated with a then-record 15 career interceptions. A multi-sport athlete, Kelly was also on the track team where he was a member of the record setting 4 x 110 Relay Team. Following graduation, he went to training camp with the Miami Dolphins in 1966 and the New York Giants in 1968.Â
