Hall of Fame
Without the leadership, guidance and support of Doctors Donald and Evelyn Spiro, Wagner College would not be the thriving institution it is today. Donald marked the end of his tenure as Chairman of Wagner College's Board of Trustees in 2001 by being named Chairman Emeritus - the highest honor that could be bestowed upon him by his colleagues. During his term as Chairman, Wagner progressed to levels never before imagined. Under the leadership of Donald, the 1990s were the school's most successful fundraising years. Addtionally, enrollment soared and academic quality rose to levels never before imagined. Donald and Evelyn have funded student scholarships, enabled major renovations to classrooms, the computer center and athletic facilities, most notably the 93,000-square-foot student recreation center - The Spiro Sports Center. Wagner now ranks with the finest small private residential colleges, thanks to the extraordinary leadership and generosity of the Spiros, who have three children and eight grandchildren.
