Hall of Fame
The floor leader for Wagner College’s legendary 1978-79 NIT team, Henry Dillard (1975-1979) helped lead Wagner Hall of Fame coach P.J. Carlesimo’s Seahawks to a 21-7 record. Also in that season Dillard was a keg cog in the Green & White’s upset victory over Seton Hall at the Sutter Gymnasium.
Dillard is generally considered the top point guard in Wagner College history, and holds the Seahawks’ career assist record with 583 and the single-season mark of 264 set in 1977-1978. Additionally his 18 assists against Delaware in 1978 is the second-best single-game total.
He is also the only Seahawks to compile more than 150 assists in a season twice. Following graduation, he landed a job with the New York City Transit Authority and is active in community affairs in Brooklyn, NY, where he runs youth basketball camps.
