Daymon Yizar

Daymon Yizar played both center and forward for the Green & White from 1977-1981. Despite his first two seasons being limited to injuries, Yizar still led the team in rebounds and was third in scoring as a freshman. In his final two seasons, he emerged as a starter and as a senior was selected Third Team All ECAC Metro and was a tri-captain. Yizar tallied 987 points for his career, scoring 24 points a game on four separate occasions. Two of his memorable games include a 22 point, 12 rebound effort against DePaul at Madison Square Garden during the 1979-1980 season and a 12 point, 20 rebound outing against Virginia and three time National Player of the Year, Ralph Sampson at the Garden during the 1980-1981 season. Yizar was an intricate part of the Seahawks first ever post season appearance in the 1979 NIT that went 21-7 while posting a school-record 18 game winning streak and is currently the Dean of Students at Bellport High School on Long Island. He and his wife Onolder have two children; Jayda and Joshua.
