A two-sport standout, Henry C. "Hank" Pedro graduated fourth on the all-time scoring list with 1,298 points and currently ranks among the top-20. Pedro was second on the team in scoring during the 1961-1962 and 1962-1963 seasons and led both the team and the Mid-Atlantic Conference in scoring his final two campaigns in 1963-1964 and 1964-1965, averaging 21.0 ppg and 21.4 ppg, respectively. Pedro was named to the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association First Team in both his junior and senior season and was tabbed as a Little All-American honorable mention by the Associated Press as a senior. A co-captain of the basketball team his senior season, he scored 45 points and made a school record 21 field goals against Washington College (12/17/64). One of Pedro's highlights was his game-winning shot in overtime to help Wagner best seventh-ranked NYU. Pedro got the ball with five seconds on the clock, dribbled until he was in a straight line with the basket and canned a jumper for a 77-76 Wagner win. After his four-year career came to an end Pedro was invited to a professional basketball tryouts with both the New York Knicks and the St. Louis Hawks. Henry C. "Hank" Pedro and his wife Denise have four children; Gregory, Scott, Lauren and Marcus.
