Wagner College Athletics

A member of the Wagner College football team and Delta Nu Fraternity during his undergraduate days,the late  Dr. Gregory Knapp graduated from Wagner in 1966 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and was the recipient of an honorary degree from Wagner in 2000.
 
He served as a Co-chair of the Recreation Center Committee of the capital campaign and as a national chair for the Endowment Challenge. He was elected to the Board of Trustees in 1990, became a Lifetime Trustee in 2002 and was also a member of the Investment Committee.
 
Prior to embarking on a successful banking career, Knapp served as Captain and Company Commander with the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966-1969 and served in Vietnam. Knapp, who made contributions to the Wagner College Football Stadium improvement project, and to the building of the Spiro Sports Center, passed away in July, 2009.
