Baseball Opens Three-Game Conference Series Against Merrimack At ShoreTown Ballpark

Lakewood, NJ - The Wagner baseball team will close out the month of April and open May with a three-game Northeast Conference (NEC) set in Lakewood, NJ as the Seahawks welcome Merrimack to ShoreTown Ballpark this weekend. Friday's contest against the Warriors is set for 3:00 p.m. while Saturday and Sunday will have a 1:00 p..m start time.


Last Time Out...
  • Wagner scored seven of its eight runs over a three-inning span while limiting Saint Peter's to just five hits as the Seahawks completed the regular-season sweep of the Peacocks, 8-1, on Wednesday afternoon. 
  • Four Seahawks finished with multi-hit games, as Maimu Kobayashi, Griffin Selby, Cody Bey and David Melfi had two hits apiece. 
  • Selby, Dante Faicchio and Quinn Mimnaugh drove in two RBIs for the visitors in the victory. 
  • Brandon Demma made his first start of the season, going three innings, allowing one run on three hits while walking two and striking out a career-high five batters.
  • Zach Gorman matched Demma with three innings, but didn't allow a run while giving up just two hits and two strikeouts. 
  • Nick DeCarlo threw two scoreless frames while Michael Cunningham preserved the victory throwing a scoreless ninth.

  • Merrimack is looking to halt a seven-game losing streak, after dropping its most recent midweek home contest against Maine, 7-5. 
  • Merrimack is 1-5 in their last six conference games, last earning a 5-2 road win in their series opener at Bryant back on April 14.
