Freshman Lucas Moreno (Bogota, Colombia / Gimnasio Campestre) of the men’s golf team has been named the Walsh Electric Male Student-Athlete of the Month for April after recording a third-place finish in leading the Wagner men’s golf team to its first-ever NEC Championship as the Seahawks outlasted Bryant in a playoff. Moreno, who was the tournament leader at four-under par through 36 holes, wound up at two-under following rounds of 70-70-74.  This performance came on the heels of his then career-best fourth-place finish the previous weekend at the Navy Invitational, which was highlighted by a career-best two-under par 69 in round one. Moreno also tied for 10th in helping the Seahawks to a second-place finish at the Rhode Island Invitational. For the month, the first-year Seahawk averaged a sparkling average score of 72.4.
