Katja Claesson went undefeated in all of her individual events for the month en route to garnering her first NEC Swimmer of the Week citation of the year. The Fullerton, CA product started the new year claiming first place in the 100 Breaststroke and 200 Breaststroke events against the University of Rhode Island (Jan. 16), Bucknell (Jan. 17) and LIU Brooklyn (Jan. 29).  In Wagner's 170-126 win over URI, Claesson set a Spiro Sports Center pool record with a time of 1:06.04. Against the Blackbirds, in which the Green & White earned a 166-88 victory in Brooklyn, she broke another pool record in the 200 Breaststroke, touching the wall in a time of 2:25.99. The junior was also a part of the 200 Medley Relay team that set a pool record at LIU Brooklyn in a time of 1:46.85.
