Carey delivered a career-high 26 points in leading Wagner to a 73-63 road victory over Mount St. Mary's (Jan. 30), giving the Seahawks a share of first place in the conference. Against the Mountaineers, the athletic guard was 11-of-14 from the field, while adding six rebounds, two blocks, and a steal. In a 64-61 home win over defending NEC regular-season champion, (Jan. 28), Carey finished with 12 points, seven rebounds, and a game-high three steals. Over this two-game span, Carey connected on 51.7 percent of his shot attempts and was a perfect 6-for-6 at the free-throw line against (Jan. 28) and the Mountaineers (Jan. 30).
