For the month of September, Yevchinecz recorded a team-leading 12 receptions and 200 yards and two touchdowns over the Seahawks’ first three contests. In the season opener at Football Bowl Championship (FBS) member Rice on Sept. 5, the sure-handed 5-10, 170-pound wide receiver had four receptions for 52 yards, highlighted by a 34-yard TD grab hauled in from quarterback Chris Andrews. In the Sept. 26 Homecoming tilt vs. Lafayette, “Yevvy” had a breakout game, posting career highs with eight catches for 148 yards, highlighted by a 51-yard TD reception from QB Alex Thomson. The dynamic playmaker also added two four punt returns for 60 yards and even completed a pass, hooking up with WR Keith Foster on a 29-yard second-quarter connection. For his efforts, Yevchinecz was the recipient of the James Robb Offensive MVP Award.
