Sophomore Samantha Jensen (Ocean Gate, NJ / Central Regional) is the Wagner College Walsh Electrical Contracting Women’s Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of May.  On May 4, Jensen crossed the finish line in 14.01 seconds to take home the gold in the 100-meter hurdles at the Northeast Conference (NEC) Championships at Saint Francis U en route to collecting First-Team All-NEC honors. In the preliminary round of the NEC Championships, Jensen clocked a school-record time of 13.71, which qualified her for the qualifying for the 2014 NCAA East Regional Championships (May 29-31) in Jacksonville, FL., where she ran a 14.07 to place 42nd. On between these two events, turned in the top finish for Wagner at the IC4A/ECAC Championships at Princeton University on May 18. After advancing to the finals in the 100 meter hurdle, Jensen recorded the third-fastest time in the prelims, clocking a 13.94 to advance to the finals. Jensen went on to finish the finals in 14.01 seconds, earning a fith-place finish.
