Sophomore running back #Dominique Williams# (Bridgeton, NJ / Milford Academy) is the Wagner College Male Athlete of the Month following a spectacular September. The 5-9, 200-pound speedster opened the season with a bang, racing for a career-high 180 yards rushing on 26 carries while scoring two touchdowns in leading the Seahawks past Northeast Conference (NEC) rival Saint Francis (PA) 38-28 on September 3. In addition to being named NEC Offensive Player of the week, Williams received honors from several national organizations as he was named a College Sporting News National All-Star, Sports Network.com Co-Offensive Player of the Week and CollegeFootballPerformance.com’s National Running Back of the Week. In addition, CollegeSportsMadness.com named him its NEC Player of the Week. Williams eclipsed the century mark on two other occasions during the month, rumbling for 141 yards on 27 carries vs. Central Connecticut St. (9/17) and 101 yards on 22 carries at Bryant (9/12). For the month, he totaled 467 yards on 91 carries (5.1 ypc.) and four touchdowns. Following the October 1 game at Cornell, Williams ranked 12th nationally among all FCS rushers at 120.8 yards per game.
