Marie-Laurence Archambault (Montreal, Quebec/ Montmorency) was Wagner’s leading scorer and most consistent performer during the month of February. In seven games, the sharp-shooting 6-0 forward averaged 13.1 points per game while scoring in double figures in four of those contests. She also tallied eight or more points in all seven games. Her high water mark came in the final game of the month at St. Francis Brooklyn on February 25. That night, she hit for 15 of her game-high 20 points in the second half to spearhead Wagner to a stirring 52-48 come-from-behind victory as the Seahawks overcame an 18-point early second half deficit. For the game, Archambault was 6-of-12 from the field, including 4-of-7 marksmanship from three-point range. Archambault’s month also included a fine 19-point outing at Robert Morris (2/9). During this contest vs. the Colonials, Archambault, was 5-of-10 from beyond the arc and, in the process, became the 23rd player in Seahawk history to reach the 1,000-point mark for her career. In the first game of the month vs. Sacred Heart (2/4), Archambault totaled 16 points on 4-of-5 shooting from deep, while her fourth double-digit scoring game came in a Feb. 12 encounter with Mount St. Mary’s when she finished with 12. Archambault also turned in eight-point outings vs. Bryant (2/16) and Central Connecticut (2/18) and concluded the month with 1,067 career points, which is 20th on the Wagner all-time scoring list. She is also third in Seahawk history in career three-pointers made (230). Heading into the season finale at Monmouth (3/2), Archambault is averaging a team-best 10.9 points per game.
