Seahawk freshman guard Jordyn Peck (Shaker Heights, OH/ Shaker Heights) turned in a tremendous first month of NEC play, propelling her to earn Bridge Financial Group Wagner Female Athlete of the Month honors for January.The 5-6 guard averaged 17.1 ppg over eight games during the month. The multi-talented left-hander delivered performances of 20 or more points in three of the six January contests and scored 16 or more in each. The Buckeye State native scored 22 points in each of her first two collegiate starts, vs. St. Francis Brooklyn (Jan. 12) and in a win at LIU Brooklyn (Jan. 14), while turning in a 20-point outing at Mount St. Mary’s (Jan. 28). The explosive Peck,who has a penchant for scoring points in bunches, earned Choice Hotels NEC Rookie of the Week honors for her contributions in the St. Francis Brooklyn and LIU Brooklyn games. For the season, Peck has been named NEC Rookie of the Week honors on three occasions.Â
