Men's Indoor Track & Field Program Garners NEC Coaching Staff Of The Year Honor

Somerset, NJ – Wagner men's track and field head coach Joe Stasi and his staff were honored as the 2021-22 Northeast Conference (NEC) Men's Indoor Track and Field Coaching Staff of the Year on Thursday morning. 
 

The Seahawk staff is composed of Coach Stasi and assistants Michele Daniels, Karl Cajuste, Julian Harvey, and Blerim Pocesta. This marks the fourth time in program history that Coach Stasi has garnered the award after his staff collected the 2021 Outdoor Track and Field Coaching Staff of the Year, 2020 Indoor Track and Field Coaching Staff of the Year award as well as the 2017 honor.   
 

For Coach Daniels, Cajuste and Harvey this marks their first time earning the accolade while for Coach Pocesta, it marks his fourth acknowledgement during his time on Grymes Hill.

Wagner defended its 2022 NEC crown as the Green & White tallied 129.50 points to hoist the trophy for the second time in as many season. The Seahawks became the first team to repeat as indoor champions since LIU won four straight in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. 

In addition to the coaching staff receiving their accolades, the conference announced the 2021-22 NEC Indoor All-NEC Teams.
