BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — The NEC has released its outdoor track & field preseason poll and Wagner's men have been picked to finish third, the conference office announced on Tuesday.
The team is coming off a third-place finish in the NEC Indoor Championship where they scored 92 points and won two gold, two silver and four bronze medals. Indoor champion CCSU, who scored 141 points in the meet, has been picked first in the outdoor poll. CCSU receives eight votes in first place, with Stonehill receiving two votes and picked second.
Wagner opened its outdoor season by sending a small contingent of student-athletes to the Stony Brook Snowflake Classic on March 14, then ramped things up the next week with a strong showing at Richmond's Fred Hardy Invitational. Next up, the Seahawks will compete in the Monmouth Home Opener, beginning Friday, March 27 at Kessler Stadium.
