SERIES BREAKDOWN AGAINST THE TERRIERS…
  • Wagner leads the all-time series over St. Francis Brooklyn, 62-22.
  • The Seahawks are 35-10 all-time against the Terriers at home and are currently riding a seven-game home win streak against their Brooklyn counterparts.
  • The last time Wagner was defeated at home came back on January 12, 2013, as the Seahawks were bested 72-66.

SCOUTING THE TERRIERS…
  • St. Francis Brooklyn is coming off their second win of the year against LIU back on January 28, earning a 66-53 road victory at LIU.
  • Ally Lassen, who averaged less than a point a contest her freshman season in 2017-18, is one of three Terriers to average double-figures, as she has poured in 15.3 points per game, good for third in the NEC, behind Bryant's Brooke Bjelko (18.3 ppg) and Mount St. Mary's Kendall Bresee (15.5 ppg).
  • Lassen leads SFBK on the boards, pulling down 7.4 rebounds a contest, good for sixth in the conference.
  • Nevena Dimitrijevic, last season's NEC Rookie of the Year, was named to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame/Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WNCA) Nancy Lieberman Award Preseason Watch List.
  • The Serbian-born point guard is eighth in the league in scoring at 12.4 ppg while pacing the conference at 5.4 helpers a contest. Additionally, the second-year guard is tied for third in steals (1.9 spg) and third in assist/turnover ratio (1.7).
  • Collectively, the Terriers are second in scoring (67.1 ppg) while placing third in three-point field goal percentage, hitting on 30.9 percent from the outside.
  • St. Francis Brooklyn is also third in the league ranks in assists (13.4 apg) and steals (9.1 spg).

SEAHAWKS IN HOME OPENERS...
  • Thursday's home opener against St. Francis Brooklyn is the latest Wagner has opened its home slate since December 28, 1991, when the Seahawks hosted its annual Wagner Christmas Tournament. That season, the Seahawks played host to Niagara.
  • All-time, Wagner is 29-21 in home lid-lifters.
  • Under fifth-year head coach, Heather Jacobs, the Green & White are 2-2, after picking up a thrilling 90-89 home triumph over the visiting Saint Peter's.

WE WIN ONE TODAY AND ONE TOMORROW, THAT'S TWO IN-A-ROW... WE WIN FOUR, THAT'S CALLED A WINNING STREAK...
  • The Seahawks are looking for their fifth straight win for the first time since the 1997-98 season, when the team, under Pam Roecker, rattled off five straight from January 21 to February 7.
  • Following a loss to, coincidentally, St. Francis Brooklyn in Brooklyn Heights on Feb. 9, the Seahawks then responded with an impressive six-game win streak from Feb. 14 through their championship run before falling in the finals on March 7 to Saint Francis U.

SOARING SEAHAWKS...
  • Entering the two-game series with the Terriers, Wagner is off to its best start in Northeast Conference (NEC) play since 1998-99, as they are currently in sole possession of second place at 5-1.
  • The 1998-99 squad, led by a then first-year head coach, Tara Gallagher, started 5-1 in league play and finished the year with a 16-12 overall mark and 13-7 record in the league.

SAME FACE, NEW PLACE...
  • Thursday will be a reunion of sorts.
  • Jennifer Leedham, who is in her second season at St. Francis Brooklyn as the associate head coach, spent three seasons on the Seahawk sidelines.
  • As a member of the Wagner coaching staff, Leedham helped guide the Green & White to the 2018-19 NEC Tournament, where the Seahawks doubled their conference wins total from the season prior and qualified for the postseason for the first time after a five-year drought.

FAMILIAR FOES...
  • Wagner head coach Heather Jacobs and St. Francis Brooklyn head coach, Linda Cimino, are no strangers to one another.
  • The two-game series marks the seventh and eighth time that Coach Jacobs and Coach Cimino will face one another, with Coach Jacobs holding a 4-2 advantage at the Division I level.
  • These two coaches met one other time prior, back on November 13, 2010, Coach Jacobs led her Adelphi University Panthers past Coach Cimino's Caldwell University Cougars, 70-65, in the season opener.
  • In that contest, current Wagner assistant coach, Sade Jackson, dished out five assists and corralled five rebounds while recording a steal in 19 minutes of action for the Panthers.

  • The former Elmont Memorial High School standouts have combined to go 27 of 40 from the free-throw line (67.5)
SEAHAWK TIDBITS...
  • In the series finale at Merrimack, guard Kate Tokuhara swiped five steals. The last Seahawk to accomplish that was Tokuhara's teammate, Alayshia Dailey, at home against Bryant (3/5/20).
  • Speaking of Dailey, she dished out a season-best eight assist against the Warriors on Jan. 30. She is the fifth NEC player this season to distribute eight or more helpers, joining Fairleigh Dickinson's Maria Roters (10 at Mount St. Mary's – Jan. 29), Saint Francis U's Karson Swogger, who accomplished the feat twice (8 vs. LIU – Jan. 8, 2021 || at La Salle – Dec. 5, 2020), Central Connecticut's Ashley Forker (vs. Fairleigh Dickinson – Dec. 19, 2020) and St. Francis Brooklyn's Nevena Dimitrijevic (vs Central Connecticut – Dec. 15, 2020).
  • Amanda Pollard netted a season-high 11 points in 15 minutes in the overtime victory in the season finale at Merrimack (1/30/21).
  • Freshman guard Marisa Sanchez-Henry has recorded at least one steal in two of her last three games.
  • Kem Nwabudu averaged 10.5 ppg and 4.5 rpg in 26.0 mpg against Merrimack.
  • Khaleah Edwards netted a season-high 19 points in Wagner's overtime thriller at Merrimack, with eight of her 19 points coming in the fourth quarter and overtime sessions.
  • Emilija Krista Grava posted the first double-double of the season for Wagner at Merrimack on Jan. 29, finishing with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

HOW WE RANK...
  • Wagner ranks second in the NEC in fewest fouls with 126, only trailing Central Connecticut, who has committed 121 fouls.
  • The Seahawks are 22nd in the NCAA in three-point field goal percentage defense and first in the NEC, holding opponents to just 25.0 percent shooting from long range.
  • The Green & White are 25th in the NCAA in turnovers forced at 20.7 per contest.

UP NEXT...
  • Wagner remains home as they welcome the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers to the Spiro Sports Center on Tuesday, Feb. 9 and close out the two-game series on Wednesday, Feb. 10.
  • Both games are scheduled to tip-off at 4:00 p.m. on NEC Front Row as Keith Raad will have the call.
