Sade Jackson enters her second season on the Wagner women's basketball staff. As a member of the Seahawk staff, Jackson reunited with head coach, Heather Jacobs, who coached her at Adelphi from 2010-14 and also rejoined her former teammate, Tara Flynn, as the two were teammates from 2011 until Jackson's graduation.
Jackson arrives on Grymes Hill following a two-year stint as head coach at Pratt Institute, where she became the third head coach at Pratt since the rebirth of the women's basketball program.
Prior to accepting the head coaching position at Pratt, Jackson served as an assistant coach under Coach Jacobs at Adelphi in 2015-16. There, Jackson not only mentored her former teammate in Flynn, but Jackson was on the staff that featured former Seahawk standout,
Sierra Clark, who went on collect Division II All-Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Second Team honors as she led AU averaging 13.5 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per contest.
As a player, Jackson appeared in 110 games and scored 1,192 career points over the course of her collegiate career in Garden City. She is just one of 21 players in program history to reach the 1,000 point plateau. The Hackensack, NJ native graduated as the Panthers; all-time leader in assists (673) and was awarded the NCAA statistical champion in assists per game (7.3) in 2012-13 and 2013-14 (8.1) season. She ranks second all-time in steals (249) and fifth in blocks (82), while also sitting in the top-10 in the program's career records in field goals, games played, three-point field goal attempted and free throws made.
A two-time NE-10 All-Conference performer, Jackson helped lead the program to its first Northeast-10 Conference postseason berth in 2012-13 and the NE-10 Championship game in 2013-14, where she earned All-Tournament and All-MET First Team accolades.
Following her graduation from Adelphi, Jackson spent a year playing professional basketball in Germany, with Eintracht Braunschweig of the Damen Basketball Bundesliga.
