Emilija Krista Grava Earns All-NEC First Team Honors

Somerset, NJ - Sophomore Emilija Krista Grava of the Wagner women's basketball team was named an All-Northeast Conference (NEC) First Team honoree on Monday morning. 



Krista Grava is the 13th Seahawk in program history to be named to the All-NEC First Team and first since 2017-18 when alumnae Sierra Clark garnered the accolade. Krista Grava joins the following players who have earned First Team honors:

Krista Grava, an All-NEC Rookie Team selection a season ago, leads the Seahawks in points per game (16.0), rebounds per game (6.0) and field goal percentage (47.1%). 
 

The second-year forward finished the regular season as the second-leading scorer in the NEC, while ranking fifth in free-throw percentage (77.1%), among the top-ten in field goal percentage and placing among the top-20 in rebounding. 

In conference-only games, Krista Grava averaged 16.3 points while converting on 45.6 percent from the floor and hitting on 86.0 percent from the free-throw line (43 of 50). 

A two-time NEC Player of the Week award recipient (Nov. 18 & Jan. 29), she netted the conference's the top-two scoring games this season. Krista Grava notched her first career 40-point outing when she racked up a career-high 45 points against Saint Peter's (11/13/19) while hitting the game-winner for the Seahawks. Additionally, she scored the most points in a conference tilt when she hit for 35 on the road at Central Connecticut (1/25/20). 

The No. 8 seeded Seahawks will take on the top-seed, Robert Morris, in tonight's NEC quarterfinals at 7 p.m. from the UMPC Events Center in Moon Township, PA.
