STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The Wagner College women's basketball team picked up its fourth consecutive conference victory of the 2025-26 campaign with a 63-44 win over CCSU at the Spiro Sports Center on Thursday night.
Wagner (10-10, 6-3 NEC) allowed only four points to CCSU in the fourth quarter, while scoring 13 as a team, to help seal the win at home. The Seahawks outscored the Blue Devils 26-16 in points off turnovers. The Green & White shared the ball well during the game, earning 15 assists compared to CCSU's seven.
CCSU (0-20, 0-9 NEC) led after the first quarter, 11-8, but a 24-14 second in favor of the Seahawks granted Wagner a 32-25 halftime lead. During the second quarter, Wagner went on its largest scoring run of the game with 14 straight points during the frame.
In the second half, balanced scoring guided Wagner as the Seahawks outscored CCSU 31-19 during the final 20 minutes of action to emerge victorious and snap a three-game losing skid to the Blue Devils.
Redshirt junior Klea Kaci led the way with 14 points on 50.0% (4-8) from beyond-the-arc. Senior Irene Fernandez de Caleya followed with 10 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and three steals.
Sophomore Keana Foz scored nine points with four rebounds, two assists, and four steals redshirt senior Priscila Varela scored eight points to go along with five assists and four steals.
Wagner's bench outscored that of CCSU's, 32-21.
Next up, the Seahawks travel to defending conference champions FDU for a 2 p.m. tip-off on Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Bogota Saving Bank Center.
