Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College men's basketball will finish the 2019-2020 season by hosting Bryant on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 pm.
Last Time Out
Wagner took the lead with 6:24 minutes remaining as part of a 22-5 second half run, but it wasn't enough, as LIU hung on for a 74-66 victory on Thursday night. With the loss, the Seahawks fell to 5-12 in Northeast Conference (NEC) play and have been eliminated from postseason contention. Sophomore
Tyrone Nesby IV led three Seahawks in double figures with 15 points, while junior
Alex Morales contributed 14 points and a team-high nine rebounds. Junior
Will Martinez added 12 points off the bench.
Final Game
Saturday's contest marks the final collegiate contests for graduate students
Curtis Cobb III and
Patrick Szpir. The two Seahawks have combined for 518 points in 52 appearances this season, with Cobb leading the team at 16.5 points per game, which is good for fourth in the NEC.
Wagner will also honor managers Sinae Smith and Terrell Braithwaite in a ceremony prior to tip-off.
Ford's Career Game
Elijah Ford scored a career-high 22 points and pulled down eight boards in the Green & White's overtime win over St. Francis Brooklyn on Sunday and contributed seven points on Thursday night against LIU. The junior continues to improve in the Seahawks' offense, averaging double-digit points in his last 12 games.

In a balanced offensive attack, the Seahawks have three players in the top-12 in the NEC in assists per game. Junior
Chase Freeman is 10
th with 3.12 assists per contest, while Morales is 11

Scouting The Bulldogs
Bryant is competing for the #7 or #8 seed in the NEC Tournament. The Bulldogs stand at 14-16 overall and 6-11 in league play, having lost their last two games. On the road, Bryant is 5-11 this season.
