Before Wagner: Curtis Cobb, earned his undergraduate degree from UMass un May and will compete as a graduate student for the Seahawks this season, averaged 8.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.4 assists for the Minutemen in 2018-19 while seeing action in 23 games, with 12 starts. In his one season at the Atlantic 10 program, Cobb recorded a season-high 17 points vs. Arkansas Pine-Bluff, 10 rebounds vs, La Salle, and seven assists at Saint Joseph's.
Prior to his sitting out the 2017-18 season at UMass due to NCAA transfer guidelines, Cobb played two seasons at Fairfield University, where he averaged 11.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game over 60 contests, 50. During his two seasons with the Stags, Cobb shot 41.1 percent overall (257-of-625) and hit 34.8 percent of his 3-pointers (100-of-287).
The highlight of his two-year Fairfield career was a school-record 46-point outburst in a win at Manhattan on January 5, 2017, a game where he shot 16-of-23 from the field, including 9-of-12 from three-point range. This 46-point outing went as the sixth-highest output across all of NCAA Division I during the 2016-17 season.
As a sophomore that season, Cobb hit for 12.1 points per game after averaging 10.8 ppg, as a freshman in 2015-16 and improved to 12.1 per, reaching double- figures in points in 33 games, including 11 games in which he scored 20 or more points.
Prior to embarking in his collegiate career, Cobb ranked sixth in Massachusetts (Class of 2015) by ESPN and was rated a three-star recruit by several recruiting services, including Scout, Rivals, Yahoo Sports and 247Sports.
Additionally, Cobb earned All-New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSA) First-Team honors as a member of Wilbraham & Monsoon Academy, where he was also a 2015 McDonald's All-America nominee.
