Men’s Lacrosse To Host No. 17/19 Robert Morris In 1:00 PM Senior Day Faceoff On Saturday

The Wagner men's lacrosse team will host the nationally-ranked Robert Morris University Colonials on Saturday, April 21, in a 1:00 p.m. Senior Day send-off at Hameline Field.
 
The Seahawks, who boast one of the nation's top defensive units led by junior goalie Matt Sefcik, enter Saturday's play with a 4-8 record and an 0-4 mark in Northeast Conference (NEC) play while RMU is 9-3 overall and 3-1 in league.
 
Entering Saturday's play, Wagner ranks No. 20 in scoring defense, allowing just 9.08 goals per game, led by Sefcik, who ranks No.3 in the  nation in both save percentage (.600) and saves per game (13.00), and senior defenseman Andrew Park who is ranked No. 8 with 2.08 caused turnovers per game.
 
Prior to the Wagner-RMU game, a Senior Day ceremony will be held in honor of nine Seahawks who will be a part of their final game on Grymes Hill, as the 2018 season concludes on April 28 at Mount St. Mary's.

29676Spencer Beyer
Beyer arrived on Grymes Hill all the way from Carlsbad, CA, in 2015 and saw two seasons of action in the Seahawk midfield before being sidelined by injury. The last two seasons, he has played an integral and visible role with the Seahawk program, serving as a student assistant coach.
 
Tanner Dixon
Dixon is four senior captains that comprise Wagner's nine-man senior class. From Seaside Park, NJ, Dixon has appeared in 52 games during his four-year Seahawk career. In that time, he has dug up 49 career ground balls, in addition to forcing 27 caused turnovers.
 
Aaron Denesevich
Denesevich, who hails from the South Jersey town of Egg Harbor, NJ, has seen 34 games during his Wagner career and has totaled 10 points, which have come on the strength of nine goals and one assist, with a career-high six goals coming in the 2016 season.
 
Rob Heffron
Heffron, a native of Bowie, MD, has been a hard-nosed presence in the Seahawk defense throughout his four seasons on Grymes Hill. In  2018, he has seen action in 10 of Wagner's 12 games and has collected eight ground balls and caused four turnovers.
 
Joe Lomeli
Lomeli is a midfielder from Clark, NJ, and one of four captains for the Seahawks in 2018. In his two seasons as a Seahawk, after transferring in from NJIT, he's amassed 30 career points on 22 goals and 8 assists, with two career hat tricks to his credit, along with 24 ground balls and four caused turnovers.
 
Billy Martin
A native of Huntington, NY, Martin has been a sparkplug in the Seahawk lineup, both on attack and in the midfield, throughout his four-year Seahawk career. In 29 career games, he has totaled 13 points on eight goals and five assists, along with nine ground balls and four caused turnovers.
 
Andrew Park
A top defender throughout his four-year career here on Grymes Hill, Park has consistently ranked among the nation's top 10 in caused turnovers per game, and atop the NEC in this category. One of Wagner's four team captains in 2018, the Kinnelon, NJ native regularly matches up against the opposition's top offensive player. He enters Saturday's contest with a school-record 80 caused turnovers in his career and has collected 111 career ground balls, which ranks among the top-15 all-time in Seahawk history.
 
JP Pawela
Pawela, who hails from Montgomery Village, MD, has been a mainstay in the midfield throughout his four-year career. A model of consistency, he enters the Robert Morris game having totaled 42 career points, which ties for 22nd on the Seahawk all-time career list. Those 42 points have come on 28 goals and 14 assists, with both of these figures ranking among Wagner's top-25 all-time. 
 
Andrew Streilein
Streilein ranks No. 1 all-time at Wagner in all three major offensive career categories, with 146 points, which have come on 89 goals and 57 assists, with 57. A two-time team captain, he has recorded nine hat tricks in his career and has scored a career-high four goals in a game on four different occasions. The Mt. Laurel, NJ native was a member of the 2015 NEC All-Rookie Team and a Second-Team All-NEC selection in 2017.
