Biography

Andrew Streilein is one of four Seahawk seniors who will serve as a team captain in 2018, along with Joe Lomeli, Andrew Park and Tanner Dixon. This marks the second straight season that he will serve as a captain. The South Jersey native has been a top scorer for the Seahawks from the moment he first stepped on campus and enters his final Seahawk campaign already ranked No. 1 in Wagner history in points (116), tied for first all-time in assists (46), and third in career goals (70).

2017: Saw action in 15 games and started all 15 … Named Second-Team All-Northeast Conference after leading the Green & White in goals (28), assists (15) and points (43) …  The 28 goals are tied for the No. 1 spot in Wagner’s single-season history … The 43 points, which matched his 2016 output, are tied for No. 1 all time … Poured in four goals on three occasions - vs. Robert Morris (4/8), Mount (4/15), and Sacred Heart (4/28) … Collected a total of 23 groundballs, with four vs. VMI (3/7) … Came up with three caused turnovers …Tallied a career-high six points on two goals and four assists vs. Hampton (3/10) … Had a five-point game (1 goal, 4 assists) vs. NJIT (3/25) … Scored three or more points in eight different games … Registered at least one point in 14 of 15 games. 

2016: Started all 15 games for the Seahawks … Team-leader with 43 points which came on 21 goals and 22 assists … The 22 assists were also a team-high while the 21 goals ranked second … -3rd in NEC in man-up goals per game sixth in points per game (2.87) … Recorded at least one point in 13 of 15 games … Career-high six points on three goals and three assists in the 18-4 win over Hampton (3/5) … Also recorded a hat trick in the season finale vs. Robert Morris (4/30) … Had two-goal performances in four different games …. Notched five points on two goals and three assists in the season-opening 12-11 win over Manhattan (2/12) … Scooped up 20 ground balls, including a season-high five vs. UMass Lowell (3/15) … Credited with six caused turnovers.

2015: Appeared and started in 12 games for the Seahawks … All-NEC Rookie Team selection … Two-time NEC Rookie of the Week honoree … Led the Seahawks in all three major offensive categories, topping the team in points (30), goals (21), and assists (9) … Posted a career-high four hat-tricks, two of which came in back-to-back games … Scored two goals apiece in three different games … Recorded three goals and two assists against Dartmouth (3/7) for a season-high five points… Registered at least one point during an eight-game stretch … Scooped up 18 ground balls on the season… Caused four turnovers, highlighted by two against Mount St. Mary’s (3/21).

Before Wagner: Played for Coach Bill Sutphin at Lenape High School where he was a four-year varsity member …  Earned First Team All-South Jersey, First Team All- County, First Team All-Conference, and Third- Team All- State honors  ... Named to the US Lacrosse New Jersey High School Boys Lacrosse All-American Team as selected by the New Jersey Interscholastic Lacrosse Coaches Association … Younger brother of Olivia Streilein, a Wagner sophomore who was named to the 2014 All-NEC Rookie Team.
