Moon Township, PA – The Wagner women's basketball team, which is coming off a rousing 69-68 Senior Day win over Mount St. Mary's on Saturday, will conclude the 2017-18 season with a two-game Western Pennsylvania swing, beginning with a Friday, March 2 contest at co-first-place Robert Morris, and concluding on Sunday, March 4 at Saint Francis U, which is the team tied with RMU for first-place honors in the Northeast Conference (NEC).
All-Time Series: Wagner vs. Robert Morris
On Friday, Wagner and RMU will meet for the 62nd time with the Colonials having taken a slim 31-30 lead in the all-time series earlier this season when, on January 20, RMU held on for a 58-52 win over the Seahawks.
Clark Named To 2017-18 CoSIDA Academic All-District™ Women's Basketball Team

Sierra Clark of the Wagner women's basketball team has been named to the 2017-18 Academic All-District First Team for District 1, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of A merica (CoSIDA).The CoSIDA Academic All-District Team recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the court and in the classroom. First-team Academic All-District™ honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be announced in March. Clark earned her undergraduate degree from Adelphi University last spring, where she was named a Second-Team Division II All-American as well a CoSIDA Academic All-American. In her one year here at Wagner, the Hughesville, MD native has continued to excel, both in the classroom and on the court. Majoring in Higher Education Leadership Organization, where she maintains a perfect 4.0 GPA.
Clark Equally Impressive On the Harwood This Season
On the hardwood this season, this 5-11 forward ranks No. 1 in the Northeast Conference in blocked shots at 2.3 per game, and No. 2 in both scoring, at 18.4 ppg., and rebounding, at 9.5 per game addition, Sierra has an NEC-leading 14 double-doubles to her credit this season, a figure that not only tops the NEC ranks, but also ranked 16th in all of NCAA Division I. In addition, Clark's 63 blocked shots rank No. 3 on the Seahawk all-time single-season list.

Tanasia Russell, one of three Wagner women's basketball players honored in a pregame Senior Day ceremony, scored a season-high 16 points to lead four players in double figures as the Seahawks earned a rousing 69-68 victory over Mount St. Mary's.
*In snapping a 15-game losing streak vs. the Mountaineers, Wagner improves to 6-21 on the season, 4-12 in Northeast Conference (NEC) play while the Mount falls to 9-18 overall, 6-10 in league play.
*The Seahawks raced out to a 32-22 lead with four minutes left in the opening half. The Mountaineers then responded on a 15-3 run to close the half in forging a 37-37 tie at the break. The game was tied again at 51-51 nearing the end of an evenly-played third quarter before Dixon-Edwards buried a three-pointer to beat the buzzer, sending the Seahawks into the fourth and final frame with momentum on its side, and a 54-51 lead on the scoreboard.
*Wagner took a 61-55 fourth-quarter lead on a three-pointer by Lenahan with 6:46 left to play. With the Seahawks in front by a 67-64 count, Clark pushed the lead to five at 69-64 with 3:13 to play. Juliette Lawless countered with a layup for the Mount at the 3:02 mark to make it a 69-66 game.
*Following a scoreless 2:21 stretch, Katrice Dickson knocked down a jumper to bring the Mountaineers to within one point at 69-68 with just 49 seconds remaining. After Clark missed a three-pointer, the Mount corralled the rebound and called timeout with 10 seconds to go.
*With four seconds left, Clark blocked a Lawless layup attempt in the lane and when Jatarrikah Settles' putback was off the mark, Lenahan grabbed the defensive rebound with 0.3 seconds left to seal the win for Wagner.
*Wagner held the statistical edge in field goal shooting (47.4%-40.7%), points in the paint (38-36), fast break points (6-2) and bench scoring while the Mount held the upper hand with a 13-6 edge in second-chance points.

Sierra Clark scored 14 points, while recording career highs with 18 rebounds and nine blocked shots, and the scrappy Seahawks battled first-place Robert Morris to the wire before falling by a count of 58-52.

Taylah Simmons had nine.
*For Robert Morris, the Colonials, who led 26-21 at halftime, had four players in double figures, led by Nina Augustin and Megan Callahan who tied for team-high honors with 13 points apiece. Finishing with 10 points each for RMU were Megan Smith and Nneka Ezeigbo.
*Robert Morris held a 26-22 edge in points in the paint, 18-4 advantage in points off turnovers while also holding he upper hand in second-chance points (12-5) and bench scoring (23-15).
*The Colonials held a 43-33 lead and appeared comfortably in control, at 48-35 with 6:41 left on an Augustin three-pointer. The Seahawks, however, had other ideas, putting together a 7-0 run, with three of those coming from Simmons, including a pair of free throws with 3:52 left, to draw Wagner to within six at 48-42.
*RMU then scored four straight, on a layup by Smith and a two foul shots from Augustin, to push the lead back to 10 at 52-42 and the Colonials held on from there.
