Staten Island, NY – The Wagner men's lacrosse team will look to move to 2-1 on the young season when the Seahawks host the Monmouth University Hawks of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) on Wednesday in a 3:00 p.m. faceoff at Hameline Field.
This battle between the Seahawks and Hawks features teams that are tied for No. 1 in the nation in caused turnovers per game (11.00). In addition, the Green & White are ranked No. 4 in scoring defense (6.5) and No. 5 in saves per game (14.5).
After opening the season with an impressive 11-5 win over another MAAC foe, Manhattan (2/10), the Green & White dropped a hard-fought 8-7 double-overtime decision at Lafayette (2/16) as the Leopards rallied late for the win.
The Hawks enter Wednesday's play with an 0-1 mark after being edged in similar fashion at No. 18 Princeton (2/17) by a 9-8 count in double-overtime.
