Staten Island, NY - Led by the nation's leading scorer, junior guard Jasmine Nwajei (Rock away Park, NY/Murry Bertram), at 27.9 ppg., a Nancy Lieberman Award candidate who recently became Wagner's all-time leading scorer, the Seahawk women's basketball team hosts Saint Francis U on Play4Kay Day in a 4:00 p.m. President's Day start.
 
2016 Play4Kay Day
The 2016 Play4Kay initiative is an opportunity for a nation of student-athletes and coaches to raise awareness and funds for women's cancer research on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. Both teams' and coaching staff's attire on Monday will feature the color pink in honor of this day. All fans wearing pink will gain will gain free admittance to today's Wagner-Saint Francis U. Since its inception in 2007, the Play 4Kay initiative has helped the Kay Yow Cancer Fund support $5.18 million in women's cancer research and related projects.
 
The Series
This will be the 64th meeting between the schools with SFU holding a 42-21 all-time lead in the series.

Junior guard Jasmine Nwajei (Rockaway Park, NY/Murry Bergtraum) poured in 42 points but Saint Francis U was able to break open a close game down the stretch in posting a 93-78 win in the Northeast Conference (NEC) opener for both teams. In addition to Nwajei's 42, sophomore guard Tanasia Russell (Vineland, NJ/Vineland) tallied a career-high 15 points with 13 of those coming in the first half. Rowe also provided a spark offensively, tossing in a season-high 13 on 5-of-9 shooting, to go with four assists and four rebounds. Sophomore forward Sofia Roma (Richmond Hill, NY/Nazareth Regional) was a huge force on the boards this afternoon, corralling 16 rebounds in addition to totaling eight points.
 
Nwajei Continues to Score at Torrid, Record-Breaking Pace
Jasmine Nwajei poured in 32 points in Saturday's loss at Bryant. For the 5-8 Nwajei, the 32-point outburst was her 21st career 30-point game and 11th of the season. Nwajei, who became Wagner's all-time leading scorer on February 6 vs. Farleigh Dickinson, is now up to 1,904 career points as her march to 2,000 continues. Her NCAA-leading scoring average is up to 27.9 ppg. while she is hitting for 33.3 ppg. in NEC play.

Roma Misses Bryant Game With Injury, Leaving Seahawks Down Four Starters
Against Bryant on Saturday, Wagner was without the services of sophomore forward Sofia Roma (Richmond Hill, NY/Nazareth Regional) as the NEC's leading rebounder suffered a knee injury vs.  Mount St. Mary's (Feb. 8).  Against Bryant on Saturday, Wagner was without a total of four starters in Roma, and guards Lyndsay Rowe (South River, NJ/St. John Vianney), Jordyn Peck (Shaker Heights, OH/Shaker Heights) and Alexis Smith (Medford, NY/St. John the Baptist/Illinois).
