Scholastic/Personal: Sofia Roma helped lead her talent-laden Nazareth Regional HS team to a 21-7 record and to its third straight Class "A" State Championship and a runner-up finish in the 2014 GCHSAA State Finals and was ranked as the No. 3 prospect in the state of New York and among the Top 125 nationally by
Maxpreps.com.

A standout for the Exodus NYC AAU Club team as well, Roma also boasts extensive international experience. She was a member of the 2013 Central America U17 Team that competed in El Salvador in addition to being a member of the 2011 Puerto Rican National Team that played in the Mexico U16 Americas Tournament.
A rugged rebounder and tenacious overall inside force, Roma is used to competing with elite-level talent as both the Nazareth and Exodus rosters, and those of their opponents', perennially feature a wealth of Division 1 players. Also a standout volleyball player, the well-rounded Roma is a member of the National Honor Society, has been active in student government all four years of high school and is involved in a host of community service projects and initiatives.

"Sofia is the ultimate student-athlete - Homecoming Queen, comes from an incredible family that provides her with a lot of support. She comes from a premier AAU program in Exodus, comes from Nazareth - again, another city championship team this year," said Cermignano. "She's a player who's used to competing at a very high-caliber pace both in high school and AAU. Her ceiling is very high and I'm very excited to coach her. She moves tremendously well, has phenomenal hands and just rebounds the ball at a whole different level. Sofia Roma has the ability to be an impact player immediately."
