SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. — Early offensive output from Seton Hall proved too much for Wagner to overcome on Tuesday, with the Pirates winning 14-1 in the midweek contest.
The same day he was named an NEC Prime Performer for his performances against Rutgers and LIU, graduate Lukas Torres worked two of the Seahawks' walks, finishing the game with a run scored. Sophomore Matt Sutera added one of the team's three hits from his spot hitting second, with freshman pinch hitter Alex Kerr entering the game and adding a hit of his own.
Batting eight, junior designated hitter Omar Carreras had Wagner's third hit of the game. A pinch hit from senior Emmett Coco pushed in Wagner's lone run in the sixth, scoring Torres from third. Freshman Quinn Finnegan, in his second consecutive midweek start, is the pitcher of record and falls to 0-2 this season.
Heading into the weekend, the Seahawks host Le Moyne at Skylands Stadium in Augusta, New Jersey for a noon game on Friday, March 20.
