BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — Freshman Ronald Ciaccia has earned his second NEC Rookie of the Week recognition for the 2026 season, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
The rookie earns the nod after the IC4A Championship at Bethpage State Park, where he ran a 26:32.2 8K to finish 211th. He was the 48th finisher of the freshmen in the race.
It was a long break for the Seahawks after excessive heat at the Paul Short Run on October 2 forced a cancellation of the race, so Wagner had roughly a month between races heading into the IC4A Championship. Ciaccia logged a 5:20 mile pace across the 8K.
Ciaccia first earned NEC Rookie of the Week the first week of the season on September 16, a ninth-place finish at the Back to the Bowl meet where he logged a 17:02.3 time.
Next up, Ciaccia and the Seahawks will run in the NEC Championship on Saturday, October 31. The race will be held on LIU's Post campus in Brookville, New York, where Wagner competed on September 18 at the LIU Fall Festival.
