Men’s Cross Country Takes Third at Stevens’ Back to the Bowl

HOLMDEL, N.J. — The Seahawks opened the season with 71 team points and a third-place finish at Stevens' Back to the Bowl meet on Saturday.

Wagner finished behind Castle Point Racing and Stevens to score those 71 points, logging two finishers in the top ten. This is Wagner's second consecutive season to compete in the meet.

Senior Joel Solomon took second place for Wagner, logging a 16:41.5 time on the 5K course to finish in the top four in back-to-back seasons. His time Saturday marks a new collegiate best for the Australia native.

Behind Solomon was freshman Ronal Ciaccia in his collegiate debut, finishing ninth. Logging a 17:02.3 time. A native of Old Bridge, New Jersey, Ciaccia is no stranger to the Holmdel Park course.

Senior Eric Marquez also posted a personal best, finishing 19th with a 17:22.8 time that took over 90 seconds off his Back to the Bowl time from 2025. Transfer senior Caleb Harman was just behind Marquez in his first race with the Green & White, clocking in at 17:36.8 to finish 23rd.

Rounding out Wagner's contingent, freshman Matt Carrano posted an 18:23.8 5K time in his collegiate debut.

With the physical test of Holmdel Park's steep bowl now behind the Seahawks, the team looks ahead to face conference opponents at their next meet.

Wagner heads to LIU's Fall Festival on Friday, Sept. 18, held in Brookville, New York at the Sharks' Post campus. The Seahawks will face NEC competition in the 8K.
