BROOKVILLE, N.Y. — Wagner scored 69 team points on the way to a third-place finish at the LIU Fall Festival meet on Friday.

Competing in an 8K for the first time this season, the Seahawks had a pair of runners finish in the top 10, with senior Joel Solomon and graduate Caleb Harman leading the charge. LIU's Post campus serves as the host site for the 2026 NEC Championships, so the Seahawks were able to get a feel for what will be an identical course at the conference meet at the end of October.

Solomon finished eighth with a 26:21.11 time, sticking just behind the lead pack for a majority of the race. Harman was with Solomon the whole way, finishing in 26:24.12 to take tenth place individually.

Reigning NEC Rookie of the Week Ronald Ciaccia was Wagner's third finisher, finishing in 27:04.94 as he continues what has been a strong collegiate debut. Senior Nigel Boboli landed in 18th with a 28:30.60 time, followed by freshman Matt Carrano as the Seahawks' final scorer. Carrano took 20th with a 28:58.05 time.

Sophomore Ignacio San Juan logged a 29:40.71 time, with freshman Volodymr Tysbriy making his collegiate debut with a 32:13.30 time.

With seven runners competing for the first time this season, head coach Marvin Azor was able to get a higher number of student-athletes on the course as the team works on ramping up from its opener at Back to the Bowl, a 5K course compared to this week's 8K.

CCSU won the meet with 23 team points, competing with 12 runners on Friday — all five of its scorers finished in the top 10. Host LIU took second place with 66 points, logging second and third place individual finishers.

Next, the Seahawks have a longer gap between meets, resting for two weeks before hitting the road for Lehigh's Paul Short Run. Held on Friday, Oct. 2, the meet is the nation's largest intercollegiate cross country race. Competing in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Wagner will compete on the Goodman Course this season.
