Wagner earned four first-place votes, tying with preseason favorites LIU, who claimed last year's NEC Championship with a win over Sacred Heart. CCSU and FDU shared third place in the poll, each securing one first-place vote.
Le Moyne, Stonehill, Mercyhurst, and Norfolk State occupy the middle spots in the rankings, while Delaware State, Coppin State, and UMES round out the poll.
