Women’s Basketball Travels To Le Moyne

Syracuse, NY - The Wagner College women's basketball team will travel to Le Moyne on Thursday night, tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.

Last Time Out
Wagner snapped a three-game losing streak with a 49-45 win over CCSU at the Spiro Sports Center on January 27.

Freshman Kiera Edmonds recorded her first career double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds on 7-12 shooting from the field. Along with Edmonds, sophomore Angelie Ricard netted 12 points on 4-10 shooting from the field while junior Rakisha Ballinger tallied 11 points. This was the third consecutive game Ballinger scored in double figures.
 
Wagner's 45 points allowed was the lowest point total for an opponent this season.

Defensive DNA
Wagner ranks 44th in the nation with 19.61 turnovers forced per game. The Seahawks also rank 62nd in the natin with 9.8 steals per game. Wagner ranks first in the Northeast Conference (NEC) in both categories.

Rakisha Ballinger ranks 35th in the nation with 2.53 steals per game.

Kiera Edmonds Continues To Impress
After recording her first career double-double, Kiera Edmonds was named NEC Rookie of the Week. Out of Edmonds' 11 rebounds against CCSU, four were offensive. Edmonds' 2.59 offensive rebounds per game ranks third in the NEC.
 
Throughout conference play, Edmonds is averaging 8.5 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game. The Brooklyn, NY native has scored in double figures in three out of the last four games.

Newcomers Making An Impact
Four out of Wagner's top-five scorers throughout NEC play are newcomers. Graduate student Taleah Washington leads the Green & White with 11 points per game through six conference games.

Washington scored a season and career-high 29 points against LIU on January 8, the most points for a Seahawk since March 5, 2021.
Washington ranks third in the circuit with 3.40 assists per game.

Junior Semie Brar leads Wagner throughout the season with 9.8 points per game. Brar has eclipsed 20 points on three separate occasions this season. The Fresno, CA native reached a career-high 26 points against Iona on November 27.

Junior Paige Lyons has reached double figures in points in two out of the last four games.

Scouting Le Moyne
The newest member of the NEC welcomes Wagner with an 8-12 overall record and a 6-1 mark in NEC play. Last week, the Dolphins picked up wins against Merrimack and LIU.

Four out of Le Moyne's six conference wins have come by double digits.

Throughout conference play, the Dolphins' offense ranks second in the NEC at 64.6 points per game and their 55.0 points allowed per game also ranks second.

Owning a league-best seven double-doubles, fifth-year senior Lydia Baker continues to impress with 12.9 points per game and a conference-best 8.1 rebounds per game.

What's Next
Wagner will welcome Stonehill to the Spiro Sports Center on Saturday, February 3. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
