Women’s Basketball Welcomes Saint Elizabeth To Wrap Up Non-Conference Play On Saturday

Staten Island, NY - The Wagner College women's basketball team will welcome Saint Elizabeth to wrap up non-conference play on Saturday, tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 pm.

Last Time Out
At the Hawk Classic this past week, Wagner dropped contests to UAB and New Hampshire.

In the first game against UAB on December 20, the Seahawks fell 79-39. Junior Semie Brar led the way for Wagner offensively with 10 points.

In the second game on December 21, Wagner fell to New Hampshire 73-52. Junior Rakisha Ballinger 15 points to lead the Seahawks offensively on 5-10 shooting from the field. Ballinger also tallied two steals while graduate student Taleah Washington chipped in nine points.

Non-Conference Recap
The Seahawks enter their final non-conference contest with a 2-9 record.

Wagner's two non-conference victories came in back-to-back fashion as they beat Navy on November 30 and Saint Peter's on December 6. Both games were won by a score of 69-67.

Semie Brar has earned three Northeast Conference (NEC) Prime Performer honors during non-conference play while tallying over 20 points on two separate occasions. Brar tallied a career-high and a Wagner season-high 26 points against Iona on November 27. The Fresno, CA native leads Wagner with 11.0 points per game.

Newcomers Making An Impact
Along with Brar, freshman Kiera Edmonds has tallied at least six rebounds in eight out of 11 non-conference contests. The Brooklyn, NY native has brought in 12 offensive rebounds in the last four games.

Taleah Washington has played over 30 minutes per game in nine contests. The District Heights, MD native has scored in double figures three points three times, including her 23-point effort at Saint Peter's.

About Saint Elizabeth
The Eagles enter the contest with Wagner with an 8-3 record and a 3-1 record in conference play.

Destiny Battle is averaging a team-high 20.7 points per game this season.

Wagner will begin NEC play on Saturday, January 6 at Saint Francis U, tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 pm.
