Men's Lacrosse Set For Road Matchup With Hobart On Saturday

Geneva, NY- The Wagner men's lacrosse team visits associate NEC member Hobart on Saturday at Boswell Field at David J Urick Stadium with faceoff set for 12:00 p.m.
 
 
LAST TIME OUT…
  • The Seahawks earned their first conference win of the season, defeating Sacred Heart 14-8 last Saturday at Hameline Field and moving to 3-5 on the year.
 
 
  • Wagner outscored the Pioneers 8-3 in the second half, including a 4-0 run to open the third quarter.
   
  • Stephen Dwyer paced the Green & White with four goals and an assist, earning him NEC Prime Performer honors for the second time this season.
  • Jack Brady recorded his first career hat trick in the win.
  • Benjamin Stewart netted two goals in his season debut, while Carson Skinner also recorded a multi-goal game.
     
 
MOVING UP THE ALL-TIME PROGRAM RANKS…
  • Stephen Dwyer now has 56 career goals at Wagner, passing Paul DeVita and moving into a fourth-place tie on the all-time goals list with Bryan Gallagher.
  • Dwyer also ranks sixth on the all-time points list with 81. The senior is eight points away from tying Kevin Zulauf for fifth place.
  • With 298 career saves as a Seahawk, netminder Danny Brady sits in fifth place all-time on Wagner's saves list.

  • Danny Brady is second in the conference in goals against average (9.77) and third in save percentage (.551).
  • Wagner's defense has only allowed a conference-best four goals while being a man down. The team also leads the conference in penalty killing percentage (.778)
  • The Seahawks have taken the second least penalties this season (20), just one more than Hobart.
  • Wagner ranks second in the conference with 8.62 caused turnovers per game.
 
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: HOBART…
  • The Statesmen enter Saturday's contest having lost five in a row and have a record of 2-5 (0-3 NEC).
  • Hobart is most recently coming off a 16-12 loss to Saint Joseph's in Philadelphia, PA.
  • Ryan Archer leads the team with 15 goals and 38 points.
  • Faceoff specialist Adam Shea is 103-202 in the circle and leads the team with 51 groundballs.
  • Kevin Holtby has played the bulk of the minutes in goal for Hobart this season. The netminder has made 69 saves while posting a 13.03 goals against average.
