Guidicipietro Rewrites Own School Record In Virginia; Seahawks Placed Seventh At Rider Inviational

Charlottesville, VA | Lawrenceville, NJ - The Wagner men's outdoor track & field team competed at both the Virginia Challenge and the Rider Invitational this weekend. 
 
In Charlottesville, VA, Robert Guidicipietro was the top overall finisher for the Seahawks, resetting his school record in the 10,000m while posting an IC4A qualifying time of 30:14.64 to take second overall. 
 
Thomas Corell and Jason Marchese, both of whom finished among the top-20 in the 400m, posted IC4A qualifying marks of 48.16 and 48.35. 
 
William Cuthbertson was among the top-20 finishers n the 800m with Wagner's fourth IC4A qualifying mark of 1:51.01. 
 
In addition to Guidicipietro's top finish, Jean Uminski and Anthony Bentivegna rattled off top-15 finishes, recording times of 31:10.32 and 31:12.03. 
 
Josiah Cadet was among the top-15 in the 400H with a time of 54.29. 
 
Dominic Palermo also notched an IC4A qualifying time of 9:14.02 in the 3000 Steeplechase to place among the top-30. 
 
The 4x400 relay team of Marches, Cyril Babcanec, Mahmoud Abdalla, and Corel finished sixth, recording an IC4A time of 3:14.32. 
 
Michael Pepe took third in the discus with a toss of 53.73m, which also qualifies him for IC4A's. 
 
On Saturday in Lawrenceville, NJ, the Seahawks finished seventh out of 17 participating teams, collecting 39 points in the afternoon. The host Broncs kept the team title with 190 points, followed by Manhattan (96) and Marist (92). 
 
Ryan Lane and Corey Durden each produced first-place finishes in the pole vault and discus, respectively. Lane cleared 1.89m while Durden launched the discus 44.43m. 
 
Lane also competed in the long jump, clearing 4.35m to place third overall. 
 
Kharlin Watkins was second in the high jump, finishing with a mark of 1.89m while Adrian Pocesta finished among the top-10 in the hammer with a toss of 47.76m. 
 
Michael Hubert rounded out the top-15 in the 1500m with a time of 3:56.61. 
 
The 4x800 squad of Michael Brannick, Hubert, Muhammad Qadri, and Paul Siconolfi took fifth overall with a time of 8:00.71. 
 
Select members will compete at the upcoming Penn Relays, which will be held on April 28 and run through April 30.
