Men's Lacrosse Set To Host Merrimack For Senior Day On Saturday

Staten Island, NY- The Wagner men's lacrosse team closes out the home schedule on Saturday for senior day against Merrimack with faceoff set for 12:00 p.m. at Hameline Field.
 
 
LAST TIME OUT…
  • Wagner fell to Mount St. Mary's 9-5 last Saturday at Hameline Field. The Seahawks are now 3-7 (1-4 NEC) on the season.
  • Benjamin Stewart and Aidan Clark recorded two-goal games, while Stephen Dwyer added a goal for the Seahawks.
  • Goalkeeper Danny Brady made 14 saves for the Green & White, earning him NEC Prime Performer recognition for the fourth time this season.
   
MOVING UP THE ALL-TIME PROGRAM RANKS…
  • Stephen Dwyer now has 58 career goals at Wagner, which is the fourth-most in school history.
  • Dwyer also ranks sixth on the all-time points list with 83. The senior is six points away from tying Kevin Zulauf for fifth place.
  • With 335 career saves as a Seahawk, netminder Danny Brady sits in fifth place all-time on Wagner's saves list.

Before Saturday's game, Wagner will honor Jack Brady, Danny Cassidy, Stephen Dwyer, Tyler Lawton, Matt Morris, Ben Pagesy, Matt Rueter, and Tommy Scarpello as part of senior day festivities at Hameline Field.

 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: MERRIMACK…
  • Merrimack enters Saturday's game with a record of 5-5 (2-3 NEC).
  • The Warriors are coming off a 12-11 loss to Hobart last Saturday at home.
  • Christian Thomas leads the team in goals with 24.
  • Jack Rooney leads the team in assists (16) and points (37).
  • Goalkeeper Henry Vogt has a .570 save percentage and 10.49 goals against average for Merrimack.
 
SERIES HISTORY…
  • Saturday's meeting marks the second time Wagner and Merrimack will face each other.
  • The Seahawks dropped last year's matchup, 11-5 to the Warriors in North Andover, MA.
  • Stewart found the back of the net in that game and Aidan Clark tallied two assists for the Green & White.
