Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College women's basketball team will play host to America East member NJIT on Saturday afternoon, with tip-off scheduled for 3:00 pm at the Spiro Sports Center.

Wagner dropped its second consecutive contest as the Seahawks fell to ACC member Syracuse 83-53 on December 11.

Alex Cowan Earns NEC Prime Performer Honors
Alex Cowan earned her second Northeast Conference (NEC) Prime Performer honor of the season, the conference announced on Monday afternoon.
Against New Hampshire and Syracuse last week, the Bowie, MD native averaged 17 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals.
Cowan leads Wagner with 12.8 points per game as she has tallied 72 points over the last four contests which is good for 18.5 points per game over that stretch.
Cowan is the only Seahawk to score in double figures on seven difference occasions this season and has scored in double figures in seven of the last eight games.
Seahawks Up To Date
Through nine games this season, Wagner's 62.3 points per games are tops in the NEC while the Seahawks also lead the conference with 14.6 assists per contest.
Wagner's turnover margin in tops in the NEC as the Seahawks have a +3.67 turnover margin to go along with a 0.9 assist to turnover ratio, also tops in the NEC.
The Seahawks rank second in the conference with 84 steals and 9.3 steals per contest.
Zhaneia Thybulle's 4.9 assists per game lead the NEC along with her 44 total assists.
History Against NJIT
This is the 13th all-time meeting between Wagner and NJIT.
Terrell Coburn earned his first victory as Wagner's head coach against the Highlanders on November 9, 2021.
Wagner is 5-0 at the Spiro Sports Center against NJIT and is riding a two-game winning streak over the Highlanders.
Scouting NJIT
Under fifth-year head coach Mike Lane, the Highlanders were picked to finish fourth in the America East.
NJIT is coming off of its most successful seasons in the Division I era after finishing the 2021-22 season with a 15-15 overall record.
The Highlanders recorded a program-best nine conference wins to earn the No. 4 seed in the 2022 America East Tournament.
Sophomore Trinity Williams leads NJIT with 10.4 points per game while junior Lyzi Litwinko is averaging 10.1 points per game.
Litwinko also leads the Highlanders with 5.7 rebounds per contest.
