Women’s Basketball Earns Exhibition Victory Over Humber

Staten Island, NY – The Wagner women's basketball team opened its season with a 97-34 victory in an exhibition contest over Humber College.

The Seahawks opened the contest with a dominant first quarter as they outscored the Hawks 22-8 in the frame.

Wagner continued to keep its foot on the gas in the second quarter as they outscored Humber 30-8 in the second quarter giving the Seahawks a 52-16 lead at halftime.
 
Humber applied a little pressure in the third quarter as they scored 13 points but Wagner pushed back with 21 points in the frame.

The Seahawks held the Hawks to just five points in the fourth quarter, giving them a 97-34 victory.

Redshirt junior Alex Cowan and graduate student Zhaneia Thybulle led the way for Wagner with 18 points each as Thybulle dished out a team-leading five assists.

Every player on the Seahawks contributed on the stat sheet as eight players scored at least five points in the victory.

Wagner will open its season on Monday, October 7 in its first official game at Manhattan at 7:00 P.M.
