Philadelphia, PA -- The Wagner College men's lacrosse team will look for the upset on Friday over the 2021 Northeast Conference (NEC) regular season champion Saint Joseph's Hawks. Opening face-off is slated for 1:00 p.m. from Sweeney Field.
 
Wagner-St. Joseph's History:
The Seahawks dropped the conference opener for both teams back on March 8, 17-5.
 
Graduate student Philip Buque scored twice for Wagner, off assists from fellow graduate student Nic Ancona and junior Tyler Lawton. The Seahawks also got one goal each from junior John Killcommons, and freshmen Justin White and Nick Martini.
 
Last Time Out For Wagner:
The Seahawks dropped a 9-8 OT heartbreaker to Hobart on Tuesday during Senior Day at Hameline Field.
 
Junior Stephen Dwyer scored a team-high four goals, giving him 11 in his last three games, while White added a pair for his second multi-goal game of the season, adding three ground balls. Senior Matt Morris scored his second goal of the season and junior Jack Brady rounded out the scoring for the Seahawks.
 
In net, sophomore Danny Brady finished with 12 saves for Wagner, including 10 after halftime, his second straight game with a save percentage over 57 percent.

About St. Joseph's:
The Hawks have not lost since that conference opener, entering Friday 7-3 on the season, and 7-0 in conference play, including three one-goal wins.
 
Zach Cole has won at least 50 percent of his face-offs in all 10 games this season, and is currently fourth in D-1 among qualified players with a 70.1 win percentage and second in the nation with an even 11 ground balls per game.
 
Matt Bohmer ranks first on the team in goals (26) and points (31), having scored at least two goals in each of the team's last nine games. Austin Strazzulla leads the team with 16 assists, and currently second in points (27). Ryan Doran and Levi Anderson are tied for second on the team with 16 goals apiece.
 
Tucker Almany has started all seven of Saint Joe's NEC wins and enters Friday with a .504 save percentage and 9.49 goals against average for the season.
