Staten Island, NY – The Wagner College women's lacrosse team continues Northeast Conference (NEC) play Wednesday, March 10, with a 3:00 p.m. opening draw against the Long Island University (LIU) Sharks, the Seahawks' first home game in 365 days.

Last Time Out For Wagner:

The Green and White dominated the Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) Blue Devils, 15-3, in their NEC opener last Saturday, March 6.

Junior Kasey Dorney set a career-high with six goals and senior Victoria Tucci set a career-high of her own with six assists. Senior Erin Kerstetter notched a hat trick, adding two assists, two draw controls and a caused turnover, graduate student Megan Drum registered a hat trick of her own, tacking on an assist and four draw controls, junior Maria Henwood added a pair of goals, and sophomore Lindsay MacLachlan notched a goal and an assist.

On defense, junior Aileen Hannan and graduate student Giaci Vitolo caused a combined five turnovers and scooped three ground balls between them.

Wagner-LIU Series:

With the unification of LIU's former Brooklyn and Post athletic programs in the Fall of 2019 and last season's cancellation prior to the start of conference play, Wednesday marks the first-ever contest between the Seahawks and the Sharks.

About LIU:

The Sharks have trailed just three times all season en route to a 3-0 start, including a 12-8 win over Sacred Heart in their NEC opener last Saturday.

Paige Sherlock has recorded hat tricks in all three wins and leads the team with 11 goals. Francesca Vasile-Cozzo is second on the team with 10 points, including a team-best seven assists. Rachel Masullo ranks second in goals (six), third in points (seven), and first in draw controls (24).

Hailey Duchnowski has played all 180 minutes thus far in net, saving 26 of 47 shots on goal, including a season-best 11 in the Sacred Heart win last Saturday.

Up Next for Wagner:

The Seahawks remain at home for a date with the Bryant Bulldogs on Saturday, March 13, at 1:00 p.m. from Hameline Field.
