Mulroony and Rooney Named to All-NEC First Team, Pisano Selected to Second Team

BRIDGEWATER, N.J. — The Wagner College women's lacrosse team placed three players on All-NEC teams, as voted on by the league's eight head coaches and announced on Wednesday.

Sophomore midfielder Sydney Mulroony and senior defender Erin Rooney highlighted the first team for the Seahawks. Senior midfielder Kristina Pisano represented Wagner on the second team.

Mulroony finished the season starting all 15 games of the 2026 season, scoring 25 goals and adding 15 assists for a total of 40 points in her sophomore season. She logged 64 shots, 47 on goal, for a .391 shooting percentage. The Rockaway, New Jersey native collected 39 ground balls and caused 23 total turnovers — both highs on the Seahawks' roster.

The sophomore was named NEC Defensive Player of the Week three times in 2026, most recently earning a share of the award after a strong outing against CCSU where she scored five goals, dished out four assists, collected four ground balls and caused eight turnovers.

Mulroony earned the NEC Defensive Player of the Week honor in consecutive weeks in March, earning it March 23 after scoring four goals and collecting nine ground balls against New Haven. The week prior, she took the award home for a game against Delaware State where the sophomore caused four turnovers, scored a pair of goals and added an assist.

Rooney started each of the season's 15 games, finishing with 19 caused turnovers and 17 ground balls. Rooney is the lone returner from a 2025 Seahawks squad that saw four All-NEC First Team selections and two All-NEC Second Team honors, with Rooney earning All-NEC Second Team last year.

Pisano start all 15 games as well, scoring 24 goals and adding five assists with 65 shots and a .369 shooting percentage. She collected 21 ground balls and caused 11 turnovers. The senior was named to the All-NEC second team in her junior season after collecting a team-leading 31 ground balls and causing 23 turnovers in 2025.

Pisano earned NEC Prime Performer honors three times this season, the first coming in week seven where she scored what was a season-high four goals alongside two assists, four ground balls, two caused turnovers and a draw control in the game against New Haven. Her second Prime Performer nod came April 6 after she scored four goals in an 18-11 defeat of Mercyhurst. The third occasion came on April 13 after Pisano combined for seven goals scored against Stonehill and CCSU.
