Teaneck, NJ - The Wagner baseball team opens Northeast Conference (NEC) play this weekend with a three-game road series against the Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights at the Naimoli Family Baseball Complex.
Last Time Out For Wagner...
- The Seahawks closed out the non-conference portion of its schedule this past weekend with a three-game set against the University of Maine Black Bears.
- After splitting Saturday's doubleheader (Game 1 - Maine 5, Wagner 1 | Game 2 - Maine 2, Wagner 6), Wagner dropped the rubber matchup, 12-3, on Sunday afternoon.
- Josh Casado allowed two runs on one hit while striking out six over 3.1 innings.
- Jared Gillen went 3 for 4 at the plate with an RBI. Cody Bey added two hits.
- Quinn Mimnaugh got his first collegiate hit and RBI in Sunday's contest, sending a double down the right-field line in the bottom of the ninth.
Seahawks On The Mound...
- Ryan Lauk will be making his third start of the season. In his outing against Maine (3/13), the Mullica Hill, NJ native went 5.1 innings while giving up two runs on six hits and striking out four batters.
- Pat Gallagher didn't allow a run in his 4.1 innings of work in the second game of the doubleheader against Maine (3/13) as he struck out three and walked two.
- Justin Beyer, Dallen Turner, Nick LePre, and Mike Pirrotta all made their season debuts in the series finale on March 14 against Maine.
- Jagger Duquette and Nicholas Hanson made their Seahawk debuts last Sunday. Both recorded a strikeout in their respective outings.

- Through March 17, Gillen ranks tenth in the nation in batting average, as he is hitting .500 on the young season. He is also among the top-20 hitters in doubles per game (0.60).
- On the year, Gillen has posted a .500/1.277/.714 with three doubles, four RBI, and two stolen bases.
- Veteran Seahawk Tyler Sanfilippo, leads the club with three home runs and 7 RBI.

- Wagner returns 34 players from the 2020 squad while welcoming eight newcomers.
- Among the returners, Freddy Sabido is vying to become the 12th Seahawks all-time to reach 200 career hits as he enters the 2021 season with 192 career hits. Additionally, he ranks eighth all-time in program history in both home runs and RBI, with 22 and 118 RBI, respectively
