Hackensack, NJ  -   The Wagner women's basketball team looks to extend its current winning streak as the Seahawks will head to Hackensack, NJ to take on the Fairleigh Dickinson University Knights.  The Seahawks are looking for their seventh straight win after completing the season sweep of St. Francis Brooklyn back on Feb. 4-5.

KRISTA GRAVA NAMED NEC & MBWA PLAYER OF THE WEEK...
  • Junior forward Emilija Krista Grava captured a pair of weekly honors after pouring in 15.5 ppg and 7.5 rpg in Wagner's two wins over St. Francis Brooklyn. 
  • On Monday, she was named Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Week. 
  • The next day, the Metropolitan Basketball Writers' Association (MBWA) announced that Krista Grava was Co-Player of the Week along with Manhattan College's, Courtney Warley
  • Since 2004-05, Krista Grava is just the second Seahawk in program history to receiver Player of the Week honors from the MET Writers, joining Jasmine Nwajei, who collected the honor back on Febraury 17, 2015. 
  • Additionally, the Lignate, Latvia native is the first conference player to pick up the honor since Fairleigh Dickinson's Erika Livermore (Dec. 14-20, 2015). 

SOARING SEAHAWKS...
  • Wagner is off to a 7-1 start in league play, having won six straight contests, the best start in over two decades, dating back to 1998-1999.
  • The 7-1 mark ties this year's team with the 1987-88 squad, who, under Wagner Hall of Fame head coach, Gela Mikalauskas, were also 7-1 over the first eight conference tilts. 
  • Coach Mikalauskas' team finished the 87-88 season with an 18-11 overall record and 12-4 in league action.

  • The Knights, who enter play at 10-7 overall and 6-6 in the conference, are looking for back-to-back wins after picking up a 79-74 overtime victory on the road at St. Francis Brooklyn. 
  • Freshman Devyn Scott netted a career-high 18 points while Lindsey Mack added 15 points. 
  • Madison Stanley, the team's leading scorer at 14.0 ppg, tallied 11 points in the win over St. Francis Brooklyn. 
  • Stanley ranks fifth in the conference in scoring, just ahead of Wagner's Emilija Krista Grava, while also placing tenth in rebounding, pulling down 5.9 boards per game.
  • FDU ranks second in the circuit in scoring defense at 59.2 ppg, trailing only Wagner, who paces the NEC at 57.9 ppg. 
  • The Knights have made the most three-point field goals thus far with 97.
  • On the defensive end, the Knights are second in the league in total steals with 120.
