Johnson City, TN – Following a 2-1 weekend in Virginia, the Wagner College baseball team heads to Tennessee for a weekend series against East Tennessee State, Ohio and Marist beginning on March 7.
UPDATE...... Wagner will open the ETSU tournament on Saturday against the host Buccaneer at 2:00 pm from Thomas Stadium. The Seahawks will then play Marist at 6:00 pm at Thomas Stadium and conclude the three-day tournament against Ohio at noon from Cardinal Park...

All-Time vs. East Tennessee State
- Wagner and ETSU are meeting for eighth time in program history with the Buccaneers holding a 7-0 advantage in the head-to-head series.
- These two programs meet last season, with ETSU taking the three-game series at Thomas Stadium.
All-Time vs. Ohio
- In the "Green & White" battle, Wagner and Ohio are meeting for the first-time ever this weekend.
- Against members of the Mid-American Conference (MAC), the Seahawks are 3-6, holding victories over Buffalo, Kent State and Miami (OH).
- The Bobcats are 1-0 against Northeast Conference (NEC) members, having defeated Fairleigh Dickinson back in 1991.

- The Seahawks and Red Foxes are meeting for the first time since 2016, as Marist holds a 10-9 advantage in the head-to-head series.
- Wagner head coach, Jim Carone, is 2-2 lifetime against Marist.

Seahawk Tidbits:
- Senior outfielder Griffin Schneider was named NEC Co-Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon after the Minnetonka, MN native batted .500 over the four-game stretch last week in wins over William & Mary and Richmond. Schneider paced the circuit in slugging percentage (1.083) while clubbing a home run in each of the games against the Tribe and Spiders, respectively.
- In addition, Wagner had two members of the pitching staff, McCae Allen and Brandon Demma, tabbed to the Week 3 Prime Performance list.
- Demma, who came in for starter Ryan Lauk against Richmond, didn't allow a hit in four scoreless frames in recording his first career save back.
- Allen gave up three hits over six scoreless innings of work against VCU on Sunday while recording four strikeouts.
- Schneider and freshman outfielder, Henry Martinez, led the team with a .310 batting average while Schneider paces the Seahawks with a .655 slugging percentage.
- Martinez, Schneider and senior Freddy Sabido lead the way with nine hits thus far while Schneider has driven in a team-best eight RBI.
- Allen leads the Seahawk arms with 17 strikeouts while Kevin Wiseman has posted two saves on the season.
Six Away From 200 For Carone...
- Ninth-year head coach Jim Carone is just six wins away from becoming the second Seahawk bench boss to win 200 career games, as he would join former Wagner head coach, Joe Litterio, who finished with a program-best 240.
Sabido Moving Up Career Charts...
- Senior Freddy Sabido is moving up the all-time career list in several statistical categories:
- 14th all-time in games started (156)
- 13th in at-bats (584)
- 13th in career hits (187)
- 9th in RBI (115)
- 18th in doubles (31)
- T-3rd in triples (11), needing just two more to tie former teammate Anthony Pecora '19 and Nick Papa who each finished with 13 for their careers.
