Staten Island, NY –  The Wagner College baseball team will honor its 11 seniors prior to Saturday's doubleheader against Stony Brook. The three-game weekend series will mark the Seahawks' final home weekend of the 2019 season and will begin at noon at the Richmond County Bank Ballpark.

» Wagner led 5-1 heading into the bottom of the sixth before the St. John's Red Storm scored twice in the bottom half of the inning, and added three more scores in their half of the seventh, to come-from-behind for the 6-5 win.
» Senior SS Anthony Pecora had three hits to lead the Wagner offense while classmate Will Johnson added two hits. Pecora, junior 1B Tyler Sanfillippo, Johnson and freshman catcher, Johnny Kampes, all drove in an RBI in the contest. 
» Freshman left-hander, John LaPointe, who made his first career start for the Green & White, allowed one run on four hits in four innings of work while walking two and striking out three

» The Wagner Seahawks completed the three-game sweep of Stony Brook, in posting a 7-3 victory back on March 11, 2018.
» Koby Bishop, who made his first career start in the contest, earned the win, after firing five scoreless frames to go along with four strikeouts. 
» Four Seahawks had multi-hit games in the series finale, led by Will Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with an RBI triple and a run scored. Phil Capra went 2-for-5 with three RBIs. Ben Montenegro and Anthony Godino also had two hits and one RBI apiece. 


// Seahawks Continue Upward On The All-Time Career Lists...
» Senior Anthony Pecora is in sole possession of 17th place on the all-time games played list, as he enters this weekend with 170 career games played.  He is also two triples away from tying Nick Papa '06 for the most in program history with 13. 
» Pecora, along with Sabido and Silvestrone, are moving up the all-time career hits chart, as Sabido ranks 20th with 164 career hits. Pecora is next with 152, which puts him into a tie for 24th place, while Silvestrone enters with 148, good for 27th.

» Wagner head coach Jim Carone, a two-time Northeast Conference (NEC) Coach of the Year, continued his upward trend on the all-time career wins list. 
» Carone has now moved north of 180 career victories, standing at 186
» Carone is one of just two Wagner bench bosses to ever accumulate 175 or more wins, joining former Seahawk head coach, Joe Litterio, who amassed a program-record 240 career wins in 12 seasons on Grymes Hill.
