Staten Island, NY –  Winners of five of its last six games, the Wagner College baseball team welcomes conference leaders, Bryant, to Richmond County Bank Ballpark, this weekend for a pivotal Northeast Conference (NEC) weekend series featuring the defending co-regular season champions from a season ago. 
SCHEDULE UPDATE (4/26/2019 - 1:09 PM) - Today's Wagner baseball contest against Bryant has been postponed due to inclement weather. The series opener, scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on April 26, has been moved to Saturday, as the Seahawks and Bulldogs will now play a doubleheader, with first-pitch scheduled for a 12:00 p.m at the Richmond County Bank Ballpark at St. George.  The series finale on Sunday, April 27, remains a 1:00 p.m. start.

» Wagner and Bryant have met 42 times in program history, which includes the NEC postseason, with the Bulldogs leading the head-to-head series, 29-13.

// Last Time Out For Wagner...
» With the game tied at 1-1 heading into the bottom of the eighth, the Wagner College baseball team scored the go-ahead and added an insurance run while holding off a late Manhattan rally in the ninth to hold on for the 3-2 win on Wednesday evening at the Richmond County Bank Ballpark.
» Sophomore 2B Mike Ruggiero and senior 3B Will Johnson each collected two hits with Ruggiero driving what turned out to be the go-ahead score in the bottom of the eighth. Junior Griffin Schneider and senior Anthony Pecora also drove in a RBI in tonight's victory.
» Junior Nick Zuppe opened tonight's contest, going an inning while striking out one and giving up a hit. The Seahawks used a total of five arms from the bullpen in picking up the victory. Junior Ryan Lauk earned his second win of the season, working a scoreless eighth inning. Classmate Nick Robino picked up his sixth save of the season.
» Nick Cimillo led the way for the visiting Jaspers with two hits. Matt Padre was credited with the lone RBI in the contest for the visitors. Carson Coon was saddled with the loss, giving up two runs on three hits in the bottom of the eighth.

// Allen Collects Second NEC Pitcher Of The Week Award... 
» McCae Allen was named NEC Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon. 
» For the junior righty, this marks the second time this season that he has earned weekly honors from the conference, as he was tabbed Pitcher of the Week for the first in his career back on March 19. 
» The Wichita, KS native took the ball in the series finale against Mount and fired seven innings to earn an 8-2 victory that moved Wagner into sole possession of second place in the NEC standings. 

// Pecora & Sanfillippo Recognized On #NECPrimePerformer List:
» In addition to Allen earning Pitcher of the Week honors, teammates Anthony Pecora and Tyler Sanfillippo were recognized by the league on the #NECPrimePerformer List 
»  Over the four-game span, Pecora led the team with a .526 batting average, while collecting a team-leading ten hits in 19 at-bats while scoring seven runs. 
» The Mamaroneck, NY native had two doubles, two home runs and drove in four while posting a total OPS of 1.556, highlighted by a team-best .947 slugging percentage. 
» Sanfillippo was a key cog in Wagner's 3-1 week, in which he batted .450 (9-for-20) with four runs scored and driving in a team-high nine RBIs, four of which coming in the April 19 contest against Mount St. Mary's, in which Sanfillippo went 3-for-3.

» Wagner head coach Jim Carone, a two-time Northeast Conference (NEC) Coach of the Year, continued his upward trend on the all-time career wins list. 
» Carone has now moved north of 180 career victories, standing at 185
» Carone is just one of two Wagner bench bosses to ever accumulate 175 or more wins, joining former Seahawk head coach, Joe Litterio, who amassed a program-record 240 career wins in 12 seasons on Grymes Hill.
