Old Westbury, NY - The Wagner College baseball team is set to play the NYIT Bears this weekend.
SCHEDULE CHANGE:Â Due to inclement weather conditions, Friday's originally scheduled Wagner baseball game versus the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) Bears at MCU Park in Brooklyn, NY has been canceled. The Seahawks and Bears are still scheduled to play a doubleheader on Saturday, April 1, at the Angelo Lorenzo Memorial Baseball Field in Old Westbury, NY with game one slated for a 12:00 p.m. first-pitch. The series finale, scheduled for Sunday, April 2, is still to be determined at this time.Â
ALL-TIME SERIES: Wagner and NYIT are meeting for the 41st time with the series favoring the Bears at 31-9. Wagner, however, has won the last four matchups against NYIT. The Seahawks defeated the Bears, 7-6 and 12-3 on March 29 at the Richmond County Bank Ballpark on Staten Island. The last time the Green & White were defeated by NYIT was back on April 20, 2006, in which the Seahawks dropped a 4-3 decision in Old Westbury, NY.Â
SEAHAWKS AMONG THE NEC: Wagner is currently third in the Northeast Conference (NEC) rankings in batting average while ranking second in slugging percentage and third in on-base percentage as of March 26. Â

The trio occupies the top-three spots in opposing batting averages, with Marsh leading the way at .153 followed by Goeke at .185 and Mormile fourth at .189. Combined, the Seahawk starters have struck out 72 batters through the first 15 games with Goeke ranking second with 31 punchouts, Marsh tied for fifth with 22 and Mormile tied for tenth with 19.posing batting averages, with Marsh leading the way at .145 followed by Goeke at .171 and Mormile fourth at .208.
